How to Submit Your Film/Video/Acting Project to Bijou Entertainment

• Registration: You must first register as a Bijou Member. Some of the information you submit on your registration form, such as biographical data and your filmography or resume will also be published on your personal member page when your first project is exhibited on Bijou. If you have multiple projects at Bijou, each will be linked to your member page.
  
  
• Username & Password: Your User-Registration and Member registration ID and password are the same.
  
  
• Personal Page: After you become a Bijou Member, you'll generate a personal member page. Personal private information (such as address and phone number) will not be idisplayed for the public to see. From this page, you'll be able to market your projects by clicking on the "Add a Project" button. You'll also be able to monitor your project stats: views, audience ratings, etc.
  
  
• Project Submission: When you submit a project, you'll be asked to enter certain information: category of project, title, running time, short summary, awards, credits. Bijou retains the right to edit project summaries as necessary. Please see submission guidelines below for more information.
  
  
• Project Status: After your project has been reviewed by Bijou, we will notify you if it has been selected to receive a free Gold Pass exhibition on our site. If not, then you'll be given the option to purchase an Exhibition Package. We only have a limited number of Gold Passes available so please don't be discouraged if your project is not selected immediately for this benefit.
  
  
• Project Launch: It takes four to six weeks it to launch your project after we receive it. We'll notify you by email with your project's premiere date, giving you enough time to publicize it. Our Rush Option allows you to hurry along the processing time to one week after its receipt at our office.
  
  
• Exhibition Renewals: If you've purchased one of our Exhibition Packages you'll be notified by email when the package is expiring to allow you sufficient time to renew.

• Hosting: Unlimited hosting for chosen length of time while you retain exclusive rights to your project.
• Encoding: Your project will be encoded in high (200k) and low (56k) bit rates in both the WindowsMedia and QuickTime formats.
• Detail Page: Each project will receive a project detail page for you to add: project stills, running time, short synopsis, credits, production comments, viewer rating and link to your web site. Also included is an "Email to a Friend" button.
• Member Page: Your personalized member page is where you can list all the films you have marketed on Bijou, contact info, background and biographical info, email address, other completed projects and those in development.

Exhibition Costs: 45 minutes Maximum
3 Month Exhibition Package - $60.00 USD
6 Month Exhibition Package - $100.00 USD
12 Month Exhibition Package - $175.00 USD

Rush Option
On the average, it takes four to six weeks to review, encode and place a project on Bijou. For those wishing to hurry that process along, we've added a Rush Option. For an additional $100, we'll launch your project on the site within one week of its receipt at our office.

Submission Guidelines

• Rights & Clearances: To market your film on Bijou, please make sure you own or hold the rights to the project and have all clearances, e.g. music. If you've granted exclusive Internet rights to another company, then you will not be able to exhibit on Bijou. Exhibitors under 18 will need a parent's or guardian's permission. Please print, have them sign the contract and mail it to us along with your project. If your project is a student film, make sure you and not your school own all rights and clearances before submitting to Bijou, otherwise you must submit signed permission from the school when you submit the project.
  
  
• Restrictions: Bijou does not accept home movies or projects determined to be pornographic. Please only submit one version of the same film and nothing more than 45 minutes in length. We do not accept non-English-language films unless legible English subtitles are included. No Flash animations are accepted.
  
  
• Member I.D.: After registering as a Bijou Member, you'll be given an ID number and a contract. Please place this number on your project label as well as on the package when mailing it to us.
  
  
• Video Formats: Preferred video formats are Beta SP and DV tape. We also accept S-VHS and VHS.
  
  
• Flash Submissions: Flash submissions may be sent via email, or on a CD, Zip or Jazz disk. Only Flash films with a file size of 6MB or less will be accepted and all must be properly masked in order to be accepted. For special consideration of projects over 6MB or questions regarding how to properly mask your Flash project please email us at contact@bijouentertainment.com.
  
  
• Digital Submissions: Sent on CD-ROM, Zip disks, Jaz (1 or 2-gig) disks or DVD-RAM. Single disk only; no segmented files.

• Media Quality: When you provide us with the excellent quality media, the better the chances are that your project will look and sound good online. Your projects will run on Industry standard players like WindowsMedia and QuickTime streamed from a top-tier bandwidth network. Streaming is fast, requiring imperceptible download time. Every project is encoded with specific compression instructions for optimal audio-visual quality. The viewer's Internet connection also affects download speed and quality. A 28.8kbps modem connection produces inconsistent results, whereas broadband connections produce the best.
